Do You Have Control Over Your Mind?

I didn't really understand fasting before this year. Like I said in my last blog post, this year has been nothing but change and just willingness. What ever it took to get closer to God, I did it with no thought.

Apart of my fasting and praying, I wanted to share something so important that I learned...CONTROL.

Controlling my flesh:
I never knew about flesh either,...and how it has so much control over you. Our flesh is everything worldly in us. When we get distracted, when we desire things we do not need, when we are blinded by what we really need, when we are blinded that we aren't in control of our emotions, stability, mind, and heart.
Having developed some control I realized how powerful it is to truly be in control and more wise on your decisions and your whole being. Sometimes the world helps make our decisions. Sometimes we are lost and not knowing why we can't progress or change or simply just move to the next level of life. It's all Self-Control and Self-Mastery.

Paul wrote in Galatians 5:16 "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh."

"An idle mind is the play ground of the devil."
GUARD YOUR MIND. Sometimes we don't even realize that it needed to be guarded. With all the blinded influence that goes in and out of our mind, you have to be aware of it. When you have control of your mind, you are always aware and protective of what enters your mind!

Romans 13:14 "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts." As long as you are occupied in doing God’s will, the flesh does not have opportunity to sin. It is when we become idle and our minds become idle that our flesh begins to drift toward its natural inclination to sin.

It's so important to evaluate everything and all things relevant to you;
  • your physical surroundings,
  • the people you tell your personal life to,
  • the people you look up to,
  • how you spend your free time
  • how much time you spend uplifting and teaching yourself things
  • how you deal with things
  • are you growing daily whether it is just a little? (it maters and it is necessary)
  • how is your prayer life? consistent or rarely? (most powerful free tool you have to access God)
All of these things are daily valuables that are invested into our future. Sometimes it's hard to pay attention to them clearly because daily doesn't seem so effective....
"As long as I get it done by this weekend..." Don't put off investments for yourself, ever. People that have become wise-minded or genuinely successful gets rid of all baggage at that moment. Now, that isn't easy but you go to do what you got to do for yourself!
Because at of the end of the day, week, month, year, lifetime...who is it that is still with you? Your soul, your mind, your heart. If those haven't been nurtured over the years or put last place because you were so busy in the world, working, living, etc., you will still be at the same place with only experiences teaching you your basic wisdom.

Don't let it be like that. If no one has told you today, you are so amazing and I mean that with all in me. Be confident and humble. Chase after things that will MAKE you grow, not just help you grow! You have a whole brain that is waiting to be stored and a soul waiting to be free from bondage with the enemy. Anytime you feel like you aren't moving forward that is the enemy trying to keep you from realizing how great you are. Anytime you are caught in a depression or just under stress, that is just the enemy stealing what you have gained and trying to get you back to first base!
God is the one who gives you peace through it all. You could be in the eye of a storm but feel peace because God says, "It's Okay my Beautiful Child, you will be fine."
Matthew 11: 28-29 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.…"

Open your eyes to the beauty God has for you.
